CHERYL is the perfect choice for judge on the upcoming show The Greatest Dancer — because her next album will be packed with floor-fillers.
I can reveal she has signed a new record deal for her comeback, this time with specialist dance label 3Beat — home to DJs Sigma, Martin Jensen and Kungs and part of Universal.
The move comes after her decision in March to split from Polydor, which had released all four of her previous solo albums.
After five solo No1 singles and four more with Girls Aloud, she will relaunch her career early next month with Love Made Me Do It, her first track since 2014.
A source close to the singer said: “Cheryl has been working on music for the past six months.
“The recording process has been driven solely by her and she wanted to retain as much of the creative control as possible.
“When she went into Universal this summer to discuss plans for release, bosses were impressed.
“After several meetings she did a deal with 3Beat because they’ve had huge success in the singles chart in the past few years and would give her creative freedom.
“She has a string of singles she wants to release before committing to an album and now she can test the waters to do whatever she wants.”
I’m told the new single sees Cheryl address her complicated relationship history, including her recent split from Liam Payne, father of her 19-month-old son Bear.
She has been working alongside former girlband co-star and close pal Nicola Roberts, and industry insiders who have listened to the track are already backing it to be a huge hit.ç
