Avicii finished his album: "his best in years"

One of the people to spend hours in the studio with Avicii was Geffen Records president Neil Jacobson. In fact, Jacobson reveals that Avicii had a new album finished. The two had just talked some 48 hours before Bergling’s body was found in a hotel room in Oman

What was the status of his next album?
We were working on it and it was his best music in years, honestly. And I know because I [A&R’d] all of his albums.

So what’s going to happen to the record?
I have no idea. I’m going to sit down and talk to the family once everybody has a chance to take a breath. I’ve never actually had this happen with an artist I’ve worked with before and this closely. So, I don’t know. We’ll try to get some advice from the family and everybody’s going to put their heads together and try and do what we think Tim would want us to do.

Are there any features on the album?
There’s a few. I’d rather not say who. Tim had a list of people he was hoping we could reach out to for this album. That was actually the last communication I had from him two days ago, and that’s haunting.

One Direction have discussed comeback plans

Liam Payne has hinted One Direction could reunite with one big "fantastic show" in the future.
The 24-year-old hunk has teased Directioners that now that he and his bandmates - Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan - have developed as solo artists, following their hiatus which began in 2016, they have discussed making a huge comeback.
He told German news outlet Promiflash: "You know I think it (a reunion) will happen at some point in the distant future. "We've all spoken about it and, you know, the dream for this most fantastic show that could be, is amazing.

"With everybody being so successful ... It's is so important for us to be able to make that show.
"And it's the only way really that One Direction could get any bigger.
"It's the only way we could get more successful really, isn't it? By being good on your own."
It's not known if former member Zayn Malik - who quit in 2015 to lead a normal life - will be part of their future plans.
The 'For You' singer - who has 12-month-old son Bear with his girlfriend Cheryl - has previously insisted the boyband would be "coming back around at some point".

Asked if it has always been an aim of his to be a solo artist after he first entered 'The X Factor' solo, he said: "It's always been a dream. I wouldn't say it's always been an aim. Once One Direction started, it was just the passion. It was fantastic and it still is. It's coming back around at some point, I'm sure ... Yes, I think we will reunite at some point in the future. We have to - I mean we've got an album ['Made In The AM'] we haven't even toured yet, and I want to write some more songs as well with the boys."
And 24-year-old Niall previously insisted he would drop everything if a One Direction reunion was to "come knocking".
He said: "I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, f*** what I'm doing. I don't give a s**t if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for that."

Camila to release 2 new songs

Rumours that the 'Havana' star would be dropping new music first arose when she debuted two unreleased tracks live on her Never Be the Same Tour. 'Scar Tissue' and 'Sangria Wine' immediately resonated with fans and got the internet speculating.
And now Roger Gold, Camila's manager, has just confirmed to a fan that both songs are set to be released.

Not only that but Roger revealed that the songs will come out at different times which means that they could both be lined up to be standalone hits, soundtracks singles or maybe even part of a rerelease or deluxe edition of Camila's brilliant debut LP.
Considering that Camila recorded loads of songs for her first album, a re-release isn't out of the question.

Beyonce breaks Coachella views record up 75% over last year

Beyonce's got YouTube crazy in love thanks to her Coachella performance which set a live stream record.

Bey's Saturday performance drew 458k simultaneous viewers on YouTube ... the most ever for a single Coachella performance since they started streaming the festival 8 years ago. That number is also up a whopping 75% over last year, when Lady Gaga stepped in to replace pregnant Bey.
In all, we're told the opening weekend -- which also included The Weeknd, Eminem and Migos, -- generated 43.1 million live stream views in 232 countries. That makes it the most-viewed live music festival ever on YouTube.
As Beyonce might put it ... you're welcome, YouTube.

Cardi B debuts at N.1 in USA with 255K sales

Cardi B blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy.
The set, which was released on April 6 through The KSR Group/Atlantic Records, earned 255,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 12, according to Nielsen Music. That’s the second-biggest week of 2018, trailing only the arrival of Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods, which bowed with 293,000 units on the Feb. 17-dated chart.

-- Cardi B becomes the fifth female rapper to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. She follows Nicki Minaj (with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in 2012 and Pink Friday in 2011), Eve (Let There Be Eve… Ruff Ryders' First Lady, 1999), Foxy Brown (Chyna Doll in 1999 and the collaborative album The Firm in 1997, with NasAZ and Nature) and Lauryn Hill (The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, 1998).

-- Invasion of Privacy bows with the largest on-demand audio streaming week ever for an album by a woman. Invasion launches with 255,000 equivalent album units overall, and of that sum, 135,000 were in SEA units. That translates to 202.6 million streams of the tracks on the album during its debut frame. Invasioneasily bests the previous record-holder, Beyonc茅’s Lemonade, which launched with 77,000 SEA units (115.2 million streams) on the May 14, 2016-dated chart.

-- Invasion logs the biggest streaming week for a debut studio album, trumping the arrival of Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2, which bowed with 100,000 SEA units (150.6 million streams) on the Sept 16, 2017-dated list.

-- Second-biggest streaming week for an album in 2018: Invasion nabs the second-largest streaming week for an album this year, behind only the debut of Migos’ Culture II (149,000 SEA units; 224.6 million on-demand audio streams).

-- Seventh-largest streaming week for an album ever: Invasion’s big streaming start marks the seventh-largest streaming week for an album, and the fifth biggest debut ever. Drake’s More Life continues to hold the record for the largest streaming frame overall, when it claimed 257,000 SEA units in its opening frame (chart dated April 8, 2017), equaling 384.8 million on-demand audio streams.

Ariana Grande To Drop New Music On April 27th

Ariana Grande will drop a track from her forthcoming full-length—and her first new music since the tragedy at Manchester—on 4/27, according to writers and producers involved with the project.
Insiders say that the Republic star has major creative control on the set, which is helmed by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Pharrell Williams, and that she’s been writing songs inspired by her experiences over the last two years. Grande has stayed off her social channels for months, preparing what many expect to be a powerful, deeply personal collection of songs.

Tulisa wins legal battle against will.i.am & Britney Spears

Tulisa has finally won a bitter, five-year court battle after she first claimed she co-wrote and featured on Britney Spears and Will.I.Am’s song Scream and Shout. The song was released in 2012 and topped the UK charts – giving Brit her first number 1 in over a decade – but Tulisa long maintained she co-wrote the hit before the Black Eyed Peas rapper took over and released it for himself and Britney. Former N-Dubz singer Tulisa wrote the track with Will’s producers back in the day as it was reportedly set to appear on her album The Female Boss under the title I Don’t Give A ****. However it was then said the song was ditched for Tulisa after Will’s producers didn’t like her version, releasing with the writing credits featuring will.i.am, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste.

‘Tulisa was annoyed when the song was taken from her and given to Britney – especially as she co-wrote it,’ a source told Metro.co.uk ‘It was set to be one of the big songs on her debut album. She didn’t let it lie, and took it all the way to the courts and has now won. ‘She just wanted to be recognised as the writer of one of the biggest pop tracks of the last decade.’ The singer and X Factor judge sued Will, who admitted at the time: ‘Tulisa wrote to that song before I did – this is the truth. But the producers of the beat … didn’t want her to have it.’ During the court case, it was also found, though a fancy musicology report, Tulisa’s vocals were still present alongside Brit’s in the finally-released track. She’ll now be officially credited as a writer and has won 10 per cent of the world wide publishing rights and income for the record, after all money made from the track was frozen as soon as Tulisa launched her lawsuit in 2012.
